David R. Stout

David R Stout, 80, of Vandalia, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, June 18th. He was survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Irene Stout, 77. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Anna B Stout of Dayton and three sisters and three brothers. He was a loving father to four daughters; Scheryl Stout of Clinton, TN, Bonnie Richmond of Vandalia, Tessa Losey (Jon) of Vandalia and Mary Vitek (Kurt) of Hilliard, Ohio and a beloved grandson who was more like a son, Justin Stout of Xenia, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He loved his cottage at Indian Lake and spent many hours fishing, boating and spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping with his wife and spending winters in Florida. He was a jack of all trades and would tinker with anything that has wheels or a motor. He was the glue for our family and a stabilizing force to all who knew him. He gave much to all and cared deeply for his family and friends. Enjoy your highball in heaven. Until we meet again, rest in peace. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, with the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Tim Hamilton, officiating.
