FARMER, Delmar R., age 81, of Tipp City, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1927 in Science Hill, KY, son of the late Charles E. & Bessie Farmer. Delmar grew up in the Church of the Nazarene Science Hill, KY and met Christ there in his teen years. He remained a follower of Christ the rest of his life. He attended the Fellowship Tabernacle in Cincinnati for 20 years and after moving, he attended Ginghamsburg Church for as long as he was able. Delmar showed Hackney Ponies, enjoyed horses and was a member of the Ohio Hackney Association and the Western Ohio Breeders Association. He retired from Schulte Brass in Cincinnati in 1989 and from the Vandalia-Butler City Schools in 2005, where he served as a bus aide for 11 years. Preceded in death by his brothers, Marion, Edgar & Frank Farmer and 1 sister, Josephine Farmer, Delmar is survived by his wife of 61 years, Flonnie (Shephard); 3 daughters, Jean Taylor (Bob), Judy Lindsay (David), & Jacqueline Glawe (Jeff); 5 grandchildren, Malane Bottles (Keith), Bob Taylor (Carrie), Brittany & Katelyn Lindsay and Jordan Glawe; 6 great-grandchildren, Hallie, Braydon & Trey Bottles, Alex & Peyton Taylor and Alexandria Rae Bauhadir; 2 brothers, Durwood Farmer (LaDonna) & Joseph Farmer (Nancy); 4 sisters, Dovie Eads, Agnes Wesley (John T.), Lorraine Hines, Julia Adams, Katherine Koenig; 1 sister-in-law, Dorothy Farmer, numerous special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 27, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial to follow at Royal Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Miami County Hospice in Delmars memory.
