deLois A. Furlong

FURLONG, deLOIS A., age 81, of Vandalia passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born February 19, 1932 in Valley City, North Dakota. She was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School and an avid gardener and nature lover. Preceded in death by her parents, Garfield duBois & Ava (Wilson), sister Agnes Mahoney & brother, Dewey Buzz duBois, deLois is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard; 2 sons, Keith Furlong (Karen) of Vandalia and Bill Furlong (Robin) of Englewood; 2 grandsons, Ben Furlong (Abbie) of IL, and Ethan Furlong (Elisabeth) of Cincinnati; 1 sister, Jeanne Woolery of Vandalia; sister-in-law, Edna duBois, sister-in-law, Peg Hertlein (Ralph), numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 25 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Humane Society in deLois memory.
