Dempsie Holt

Dempsie Holt, 81, of Dayton, OH, passed away December 8, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones, after bravely fighting an illness of four months. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He loved Kentucky Basketball, gardening, chickens, the outdoors, hiking, and most of all, his family.

Born December 12, 1940 in Mershons Crossroads, KY, he was a son of the late Chester & Lillie Robinson Holt. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, and his beloved dog, Molly. Dempsie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lois Hill Holt, of Dayton; three children: Jeffrey (Kristina) Holt, of Rockholds, KY, Melissa (David) Rambo, of Vandalia, OH, and Leann Sexton, of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren: Emily and Anna Holt, Kyle, Noah and Caleb Rambo; siblings: Evelyn Barnett, Ralph Holt, Brenda Williams and Bonnie Spitser, all of KY, and Helen Williams, of Huber Heights, OH; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be loved and missed for as long as they live.

Services will be held at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home in Vandalia, OH. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., and the funeral service will commence at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Bill Loudermilk officiating.
