Dennis Edwin Burns, Sr., 86, of Tipp City, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at his home. He was born to Charles & Vivian Burns on January 12, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio. Dennis was a life member of the Sons of AMVETS #99 & Sons of the American Legion #668. He was retired from ARA/Aramark after over 35 years of service. Dennis was also a NASCAR enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Charlotte A. Burns, and his sister, Beverly Smith.
Survived by his 3 children, Dennis Burns, Jr. (Brenda) of Pleasant Hill, Doug Burns (Donna) of Mt. Airy, MD and Donna Butler of Dayton; grandchildren, April Foster, Dustin Burns (Sarah), Chad Burns-Vincent (Scott), Ryan Burns (Mary Beth), Jason Burns (Steph), Brandon Butler and Danielle Butler; great grandchildren, Nathan, Ben and Abby Foster, Hudson Burns, Savannah, Skylar and Reed Burns, Zacariah Butler, Alex Barnett, Jaxon Burns-Vincent, Charlotte and Chase Burns; sisters, Nancy Bauer (Butch) and Dorothy Krimm; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many friends.
The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Michael Malcosky, officiating. The burial will follow at Dayton memorial Park Cemetery.
