Dennis O. Esken, Sr.

Age 81, formerly of Huber Heights, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at his home. Dennis was born February 25, 1942 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to the late Leonard & Eileen (Duer) Esken. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann Louise (Luneke) Esken; one daughter, Michelle Elam; three siblings, Robert K. Esken, Madilyn Jean McDaniel and Leonard K. Esken, Jr.; and by his sister-in-law, Loretta Luneke.

Dennis retired as a letter carrier with 30 years of service. He was a member of the NALC (National Association of Letter Carriers); the Troy Fish & Game Club; AMVETS Post # 99; and a 20-year resident of Terra Siesta Mobile Home Park in Ellington, Florida.

Dennis is survived by two sons, Dennis Esken, Jr. and Thomas Esken, Sr. & his girlfriend, Lesa Hetletvedt; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Thomas Jr., April (Tyler), Jordan, McKenzie, Billy, Denise & Trey; two great grandchildren, Aaron, Jr. & Rozalynne; his beloved dog, Wilbur; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, November 27, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will immediately follow at 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Dennis to Promedica Hospice.
