Dennis E. Rickert

December 14, 1941 — April 4, 2016

RICKERT, DENNIS ELWOOD , of Tipp City, went on to be with his Lord at 74 years old on April 4, 2016 at 12:20 am. He passed away peacefully from complications from influenza A surrounded by loved ones. He was the proud owner of Ka- D's Inc./Masonry. We would like to thank all his loyal customers for their support over the years and dedicated workers, especially his son, Mark and brother, Gary.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Walter C. Rickert (Margaret) and his mother, Catherine Moore (Artman), his son, Jason, granddaughter, Krystal, and his sister, Norma. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Ellen Rickert and their loving dog, Jasper; 4 children, Sheri Rex (Jerry), Mark Rickert, Melissa Lowrie (Richard Gross), and Shawn Rickert; 9 grandchildren, Heather (Tosha) Spencer, Rachel, Lindsay, TJ, Natale, Corey, Aubrey and Emma; 3 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Avery & Amara; siblings, Don Eilerman, Dale Rickert (Jennifer), Alberta Parker and Gary Rickert (Eileen), brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, James & Sherry Clemons, Karl & Wanda Scott, Ralph Yordy, Nancy Yordy (deceased), & Pam Shrout, Becky & Larry Desault, Jan & James Rutherford, Mike & Kim Compton, Jim & Linda Pyatt, Joanne Bouchard, & David & Trudy Pyatt (deceased), along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dennis was a free Mason and belongs to Vandalia Masonic Lodge #742 F&AM. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening and collecting. Dennis was a loving family man and he will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him! The family would like to thank the dedicated nurses and doctors and staff in ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to Dennis. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, April 8 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Michael Malcosky officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Masonic Home or to the charity of your choice in memory of Dennis.
