KAUTT, Dewey K., age 95 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the DaySpring Nursing Center. He was born January 7, 1914 in Pitsburg, OH, son of the late Edward & Maggie (Hemerick) Kautt. Dewey was a longtime resident of Vandalia, where he was a retired group leader at the Delphi Chassis Plant. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, served as an American Red Cross Volunteer for 12 years, driving wheelchair bus transporting patients to doctor and hospital visits. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II where he served in the 104th Division. Dewey is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edna E. (Sowers); 1 daughter, Linda & husband, Leonard Einfeldt Jr., other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 13, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Gil Santiago officiating. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Deweys memory.
