ELLEMAN, Don Lee went home to Heaven on Saturday, April 5, 2014, with his son Tom meeting him at Heaven's gate. He was born to Aubrey and Glenna (Stockslager) Elleman on September 7, 1925. Cherishing his memory are his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara (Vance) Elleman; daughters, Terri (Steve) Baltes and Brenda (Doug) Fryman; grandchildren, Beth (Phil) Reimer, Tom (Jen) Fryman, Greg Baltes and Sarah Baltes; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Quinten, Kiara, Jocelyn, Griffin, Bella and Kylie; sisters, Loaine Leffler and Nancy (Jay) Ferrell; brothers, Jerry (Polly) Elleman and David Bruce (Arnita) Elleman; sister-in-law, Betsy Keegan; and many nieces and nephews. Don was a good Christian man who had a good life. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa and he had the sweetest smile. He was retired from General Motors. During WWII, Don served in the Army on the 544th Engineers Boat and Shore Regiment in the South Pacific. He liked to mow grass, watch old westerns and play croquet. Don also raced homing pigeons for many years. He always had a strong hand to help and was a great handyman who could build or fix anything. Don always took care of his family and loved and enjoyed them so. They will miss him dearly. Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 12 at Polk Grove Cemetery, 9190 Frederick Pike, Dayton, OH. There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
