BENKERT, Donald A. age 54 of Waukesha, WI, formerly of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday July 1, 2012. He was born April 29, 1958 in Dayton, OH. Donald had been living in Wisconsin for over 25 years and was working as an Architectural Engineer with N.C.I., with his last three years out of the El Paso, IL office. He was a graduate of the Vandalia Butler H.S. Class of 1976, a graduate of I.T.T. Technical Institute and was a member of St Christopher Catholic Church. He was a big fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Benkert, 2 aunts and 1 uncle. He is survived by his mother, Catherine Benkert of Vandalia; 2 sisters, Theresa Seiber of Vandalia and Diane & husband, Richard Neff of Greenwood, SC; nephew, Joseph & wife, Megan Seiber and their son, Casey; niece, Sarah Seiber, niece, Kari Neff and her son, Coltyn; Uncle Cash & wife, Kaye Feindel; Aunt Betty & husband, Jim Huden and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 14 at 10:00am at St Christopher Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00am until time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. in Donalds memory. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home.
