SHOUP, Donald E., age 79, a longtime Butler Township resident, passed through the gates of Heaven, Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born September 18, 1934 in Clark Co., Ohio, son of the late Willard & Mildred (Brubaker) Shoup. Don was the founder of Bon Builders in 1966 and was a founding member of the Dayton Chapter of the Associated Builders & Contractors. He was a prime investor and builder for numerous projects in Dayton and surrounding areas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia, was a pilot, avid boater, snow skier, enjoyed woodworking and was truly a "hands-on guy" always striving to make things better. Preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Miller, Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn; son, Dana & wife, Jenny Shoup of Butler Twp., daughter, Denita & husband, Scott Fullam of Vandalia; sister, Marilyn & husband, Don Smith; brother-in-law, Jesse Miller; 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Danielle, Caleigh & Kyle along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 23 at First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Pastor David Starry officiating. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the church from 4:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Ohio State Comprehensive Cancer Center, Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute Donor Relations - "Cure for Pancreatic Cancer Fund", P.O. Box 183112, Columbus, OH 43218-3112 in Don's memory. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
