Doris Mae Ping
Age 93, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Hearth & Home of Vandalia. Doris was born May 18, 1928 in Dayton to the late James W. & Elsie (Hubble) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, James W. Ping, in 1986.
Doris was a member of the Irish Club, the VFW Auxiliary Post # 6560 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 746. She retired last year from Dayton Auto Auction as the Office Manager with 52 years of service.
Doris is survived by three children, James Ping & his wife, Roberta, Robert Ping and Linda Milbern & her husband, Dan; grandchildren, Adam, Lorie, Melissa and Tammy Collins.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Doris will be laid to rest with her husband at the Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Doris to the Irish Club Scholarship Fund, 6555 Dog Leg Road, Dayton, Ohio 45414.
