ATHERTON, Dorothy M., age 87 of Caryville, TN, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by her husband, Noel Pierce Atherton, 1 son, Noel Howard Atherton, parents, Guy & Esther (Hartman) Price, brothers, Billy & Frank Price, Dorothy is survived by her sons, Billy Atherton & wife, Debra of West Milton, Donald Atherton & wife, Marilyn of Live Oak, FL, Gregory Lee Atherton of Xenia & Michael Atherton of Caryville, TN; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert Price of Perrysburg, OH, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 26 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. Donald Atherton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
