Dorothy Blair

BLAIR, Dorothy M. (McAtee) age 85, of Union, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital after an illness. She was born April 8, 1921 in Mt. Carmel, IL, daughter of the late Peter & Rose (Anslinger) Dunkel. Dorothy was a former employee of Ednas Little Store, a longtime employee of the Gettysburg Pharmacy and the Sugarcreek Packing Company. Preceded in death by 1 son, Jimmie D. McAtee and 1 sister, Bonnie Perkins, Dorothy is survived by 1 daughter, Kandy McAtee of Union; 2 sons, Kim Blair of Union and Mike McAtee of Vandalia; 2 grandsons; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, William Dunkel and George Dunkel; 1 sister, Carol Harrington and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, December 29 at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia with Rev. Ronald Hajarian officiating. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association in Dorothys memory.
