Dorothy E. Clayton

CLAYTON, Dorothy E., age 92 of Vandalia passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Mercy Sienna Woods. She was born July 29, 1923 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late John & Gertrude (Smith) Oxrider. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles R. Clayton, sister, Mary Jane, and 1 great-grandchild, Ryleigh Farrell, Dorothy is survived by her 3 children, Jack L. Clayton (Bonnie), Robert A. Clayton (Sally) and Jill A. Prows (Bobby); her brother, John Oxrider (Mary); 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 5 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Bob Vogelmann officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.
