Dorothy K. Heighton

June 8, 1923 — August 13, 2016

Dorothy Mae (Keeler) Heighton, age 93, of Tipp City, formerly Vandalia, died August 13, 2016. Preceded in death by her husband Douglas Clark Heighton, Dorothy is survived by five sons, Douglas A. and wife, Barbara of Westerville, Donald L. and wife, Sally of Keller, TX, Danis J. of Springfield, David W. and wife, Judy of Englewood, and Devin K. of Clayton, and daughter-in-law Kathleen L. of Troy. Dorothy has one brother, Richard Keeler and wife Marilyn, and one sister, Miriam Harman and husband John; five granddaughters Jennifer, Megan, Rebecca, Michaela, and Lillian and one grandson, Ryan; two great grandchildren, Mason and Lexi. She was a graduate of Bradford High School. She was employed at Wright Field during WWII and then worked for DP&L. Dorothy was highly involved with the Miami Valley Council of Scouting and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Boy Scouts – Miami Valley Council in Dorothy’s memory.
