Dorothy V Wright

WRIGHT, Dorothy V. age 92, of Vandalia, passed away Saturday July 16, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was retired from Sears and was a Den Mother. Dorothy served as President of the Dayton Montgomery Co. Council of the PTA and was an Honorary Life Member of the National PTA. She was a Past Matron of Harvest Chapter #564 O.E.S. She was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem #13 and Azizah Temple #57; Daughters of the Nile. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother Pearl Shaffer, her brother David Shaffer, her husband Clayton L. Wright, her daughter Dorothy Jeanne Wright and her grandson Andrew L. Wright. She is survived by her son Louis C Wright Jr. and wife Jeannette, 2 grandsons Louis C Wright III and wife Cari, United States Marine Sergeant Howard C Wright and one great-grandson Cody L Wright. Besides her loving family, the people who influenced her life the most were Rev Donald Brownell, Rev Dewey Long, Rev Jim Damewood, Dr Larry Grunden, Rev Cherryl Chrisman Styles and husband Bill, and her dear foster grandchildren. She was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 19 at 1:30pm at Murlin Heights United Church of Christ, 8616 N Dixie Dr with Rev Cherryl Styles officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr Vandalia on Monday evening (TODAY) from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Dorothys memory.
