CURRY, Douglas A., 71, of Waynesville, passed suddenly and way too soon, Doug will ALWAYS be remembered as a great husband, father, grandpa, son, brother and friend.
Douglas A Curry passed away at Miami Valley South Hospital early Thursday morning, March 23. Born on July 5th, 1951. He was preceded in death by his father Bill Curry. Leaving behind his wife Karen, children Holly Truscott and Amy Garcia (Wyatt), grandchildren Reagan, Dylan, Evan and Gibson, mother Anna Curry, mother-in-law Joyce Carpenter, brother Mike Curry (Candy), sister Jill Galford, nieces and nephews Brittany Batteiger (Pete), Dustin Curry, Andrea Galford, Tiffany Galford, and other loving family and friends.
Doug attended Wayne High School in Huber Heights. After graduating, he went on to attend the University of North Alabama on a basketball scholarship. Doug always loved sports and was a lifelong Bengals fan. He became an Avalanche fan when he and Karen moved to Denver, Colorado in 1997. They moved back home to Ohio after retiring in 2020. Living close to his grandkids had been his goal for years, so when they were able to move across the street from them, he was very happy.
Doug's sincere love, generosity and humor will be missed by all those he touched.
A private service will be held for the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia. Condolences can be shared at www.MortonWhetstoneFH.com.
