SHELTON, Douglas E. Doug , age 47, of Vandalia, went to Heaven in the loving arms of Jesus, Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Doug was born April 2, 1961 in Dayton, OH. Preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Shelton in 2006, maternal grandfather, Orville Norman and paternal grandparents, Gilce & Thelma Shelton, Doug is survived by his mother, Sharon Shelton of Vandalia; grandmother, Thelma Norman of Vandalia; 3 sons, Kelly Shelton and Keith Shelton, both of Vandalia and Kraig Shelton & wife, Caroline of Tipp City; 1 brother, Terry Shelton of Dayton; 1 sister, Sherry Shelton of Vandalia; his precious twin nieces, Lauren & Leanna Powell whom Doug absolutely adored; special cousin Rick & wife, Gina King, who the family thanks for all the love and support given to Doug throughout his life, and a loving extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 10 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Rick Washburn officiating. Burial to follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 pm. Dougs family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Klein & Dr. Oxman and the staff at the Dayton Regional Dialysis Center for their loving care through the years and to the staff at Hospice of Dayton. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Dougs memory.
