E. Joan Denman

Age 86, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at The Hospice of Dayton. Joan was born January 5, 1932 in Covington, Ohio to the late Arthur & Ruth (Erwin) Adams. In addition to her parents, Joan was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Denman, in 2004; and by five siblings, Mione Lewis, Arthur “Quentin” Adams, Marion Adams, Eileen Hollis & Maurice Adams.

Joan was a member of Vandalia United Methodist Church for over 50 years, active with the Circle Eights Square Dance Club and a member of the Vandalia Lioness Club and the Vandalia Senior Citizens Center.

Joan is survived by three children, Renee Everling (Gary), Cindy Phillips & Douglas Denman (Marilyn); four grandchildren, Jason, C. L. (Kimberly), Laura (Kevin) & Nathaniel; six great grandchildren, Aleigha, Addison, Liesel, Harper, Holden & Isabel; two sisters, Gladys Klotz and Virginia Moyer; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday (3/21) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (3/22) at the Vandalia UMC, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Joan to The Hospice of Dayton.
