Earl R Reece

REECE, EARL age 71, of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Troy Care & Rehabilitation Center. Earl was born May 13, 1938 in Mascot, Tennessee, son of the late Samuel & Florence (Patton) Reece. He was a US Army Veteran, serving his country from 1957-1964, and was employed as a Police Officer with the United States government. Preceded in death by 4 brothers, Harvey, Leonard, James & Elmer Reece and 4 sisters, Hazel Reece, Helen Davidson, Julia Presley & Omia Pearl, Earl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kim; 2 sons, Jon E. Reece (Susan), & Eric Reece; 3 daughters, Kimberly Wise (Steve), Marion Taylor (Timothy); and Trish Reece; 8 grandchildren, Sara, Samantha, Samuel, Alex, Morgan, Allison, Ashley & Brooke; 1 great-granddaughter, Olivia; 1 brother, David Reece; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Friday evening from 6-8 pm. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association in Earls memory.
