Edgar John Follick, Jr.

July 6, 1923 — April 30, 2018

FOLLICK, Edgar John, Jr ., age 94 of Vandalia, passed away peacefully April 30, 2018 at Stonespring of Vandalia. He was born July 6, 1923 in Cincinnati, son of the late Edgar John and Ellen S. (McGrath) Follick, Sr. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Robert and Martin Follick; and twin great-granddaughters, Emily and Abigail Follick. He was a charter member of St. Christopher Church and an active member of the Booster’s Club. Ed graduated from Cincinnati Vocational School in 1941 and worked for TWA for 42 years as an aircraft mechanic, retiring in 1984. He served in the Army Air Corp for three years with the Air Transport command during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Grace P. (Cramer) Follick; one son, John Edward (Renee); two daughters, Jacqueline Elaine Nawroth (Michael) and Joan Elizabeth Boboige (Brian) all of Vandalia; six grandsons, Chad Edward (Amy), Corey Matthew (Dave Hartzell), Andrew John Follick all of Vandalia; Kevin Michael Nawroth (Rebecca) of Centreville, VA, Brent Joseph Nawroth (Janet) of Cinncinnati and Eric Robert Nawroth (Jessica) of Brookville; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia Follick, Lucas, Eli, Ella, Paige, Grant, Brooklyn and Chase Nawroth; one sister, Margie Hermann (Harry) of Cincinnati, and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, May 4, 2018 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening May 3 from 5-8 pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or St. Christopher Catholic Church in Edgar’s memory.
