HACKER, Edith I. age 99 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday March 31, 2011 at Cypress Pointe Care Center. She was born October 25, 1911 in Salt Lick, KY daughter of the late George & Rosa (Bell) Wills. Edith was a retired employee of McCalls and was a member of the Huber Heights Church of God. She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren Tom and Terry Highley. Edith is survived by 3 sons Archie & wife Alberta Highley of Palmetto, FL, Carl Highley of Oakland, CA, and William & wife Judith Highley of Dayton; 8 grandchildren Tim Highley, Tammy Highley, Edie Birbeck, Carl Highley Jr, Julie Clapp, Janet Poliquin, RaeJean Gindelberger, Bill Highley Jr; 17 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday April 4 at 10:30am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Howard Briggs officiating. Entombment will follow at Royal Oak Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3pm to 5pm at the funeral home.
