Eleanor M. Snodgrass

SNODGRASS, Eleanor M. (Fair) nee Stout, age 86 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Grandview Hospital. She was born January 14, 1927 in Monterey, IN, daughter of the late Earl E. & Marie E. (Gettier) Stout. Eleanor loved to read and travel, seeing 49 of the 50 states and Canada. She was an avid fan of puzzles, enjoyed her family and was a wonderful caregiver to her Uncle Bud for many years. Preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Louis A. Fair, second husband, Arthur David Snodgrass; granddaughter, Shawn Marie Easterday; 2 brothers, Forrest D. & Earl E. Stout; and 1 sister, Phyllis J. Garigan, Eleanor is survived by 5 daughters, Marita Easterday (Neil) of Eaton, Linda Fox (Dwight) of Springfield, Susan Palermo (James) of FL, Christine Zirkle of IN & Gloria A. Liddle (Keith) of CA; 6 grandchildren, Lisa Marie Herman, Buster Easterday, Shelby Vincent, Jessica Zirkle, Terry Snodgrass, & Joy Snodgrass; 11 great-grandchildren, Angela Runyon, Nicholas Paradiso, Jamie Thomas, Joey Thomas, Caitlin Morris, Blake Howard, Devon Wright, Chase Hensley, Harold D.J. Vincent, Isiah D. Zirkle, & Dakota E. Rose; 9 great-great-grandchildren, Brooke, Parker, J.J., Hayley, Ally, Hunter, Logan, Lexie & Olivia; sister-in-law, Shirley Stout, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, May 11, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor John H. Pollock officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 am until time of service.
