Eleanor Weatherhead

WEATHERHEAD, Eleanor R. age 86 of Butler Twp., passed away Monday February 5, 2007 at Trinity Community Home in Beavercreek after a lengthy illness. She was born September 2, 1920 in Richmond, IN, daughter of the late Edgar L. & Laura B. (Harrison) Russell. Eleanor was a retired schoolteacher from the Northridge City Schools with over 30 years of service. She was a 60-year member of the Faith United Church of Christ formerly known as the Hale Church where she was the Sunday School Superintendent and was a member of the church Consistory and the Womens Guild. Eleanor was a member of the Christian Chapter O.E.S. # 241 in Bradford; was formerly on the O.E.A. Board of Directors, and was a member of various educational associations throughout the state. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman R Weatherhead and a brother Melvin Russell. She is survived by one daughter Jane Rosendahl of Seymour CT; one son James & wife Mary Weatherhead of San Rafael, CA; 3 grandchildren P.J. Rosendahl, H. Anthony Garcia, and Leslie Valderrama; 2 great-grandchildren Austin Rosendahl and Damian Garcia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 10 at 10:00am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Bev Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 to 8pm.
