SNYDER, Ella age 81, of Vandalia passed away Monday, November 9, 2009 at Vitas Hospital of Dayton. She was born December 7, 1927 in Minifee, KY, daughter of the late George C. & Spicy Caroline Jones. Ella was a cook for the Vandalia Cafeteria, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: Englewood Ward, where she was active in the Church Relief Society and worked in the Genealogy Library. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2001, 2 sisters, Gladys & Neacie Peck; 1 brother, Earl Jones; 2 half-brothers, Vincent & Otha Gose, and 1 daughter-in-law, Peg Snyder, Ella is survived by her children, Michael T. Snyder of Dayton; Rick Snyder (Pamela) of FL, Stephanie Spencer (David) of Vandalia; and Scott E. Snyder (Jan) of SC; 3 sisters, Malvery Murphy, Marie Heizer & Hester Mullins; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: Englewood Ward, 1500 Shiloh Springs Rd., with Bishop Dan Brazelton officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Friday evening from 5-8 pm and also from 10:00 am until time of service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 3055 Kettering Blvd., Moraine, OH in Ellas memory.
