AMBURGEY, Elmer Lee, age 90 passed away, Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at his home in Centerville after a lengthy illness. He was born January 13, 1922 in Paintsville, KY, son of the late Carlos Richard & Virginia (Preston) Amburgey. Elmer was a decorated WWII Army Veteran who proudly served in the European Campaign and was awarded 3 Bronze Stars. He was a retired employee of Duriron and a member of the Vineyard Church of Dayton. Preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Morgan), sons, Rick, Larry & Randy, granddaughter, Tammy; sisters, Shirley, Cea, & Helen, and brother, Don, Elmer is survived by his daughters, Carol Turner (Gary), Kim Carver (Ed) & Penny Bateman (Daniel) & his son, Lin Amburgey; grandchildren, Nick, Jason, Lori, Lance, Angie, Matthew, Morgan & Andrew; great-grandchildren, Austin, Christian, Jamison & Gwendalyn and brother, Fletcher Amburgey (Louise) of FL. Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Atrium Medical Center Foundation, the American Lung Association or the Vineyard of Dayton, 4051 Indian Ripple Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45440 in Elmers memory.
