Erica Kraynak

Erica Kraynak, 79, of Clayton, passed away peacefully in her families’ home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born in Belgium on May 4, 1943 and moved to the United States in 1973, was married in 1975 and proudly became a US citizen in 1977.

Erica was a member of the Greenview Garden Club, since 1988, where she served as president for many years. She loved to spend her time in both the herb garden at Aullwood and her own garden. Erica loved to plant flowers and watch birds in her backyard. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society Alliance and the College Women’s Club, since 2007. Erica enjoyed spending time at the YMCA doing water aerobics and yoga.

Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kraynak, and her mother, Christine Boels.

Survived by her daughter, Christina Cyphers (Chad); grandson, Chance Cyphers; granddaughter, Teagan Cyphers. She is also survived by her step children in Connecticut: Joseph Kraynak (Debbie) and Betsy Bathrick (Ron); 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many close friends that she held dear to her heart.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, with funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Mark Moorman, officiating. A private burial will take place at the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
