Esther M. Meyer

Meyer, Esther M. (Pohl), age 102, of Vandalia passed away peacefully Wednesday November 20, 2013 at Stonespring Care Center. Esther was born in St. Henry, Ohio on April 25, 1911, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Pohl. Preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Arthur Meyer, brothers Joe, Lee and Edward; and sisters Hilda(Rammel), Irma(Riegle), and Mary(Huelsman). Esther was a charter member of St. Christopher's Church in Vandalia. Esther was truly a blessing and inspiration to all of her family and friends. Her warm, friendly smile, wonderful sense of humor and sincere compassion for others will be remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters; Marilyn Monnin (Ken), Sr. Della Mae C.P.P.S., Connie Steinke (Chuck), and son Richard (Deborah), 18 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 25 at 11:00 AM at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3 - 6 PM on Sunday November 24 at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, and at St. Christopher's from 10 - 11 AM preceding Mass on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or St. Christopher's Church in Esther's memory
