Ethel Smith

SMITH, Ethel May., age 82 of Vandalia, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Spring Creek Nursing Center in Huber Heights. Ethel was born April 27, 1925 in Toledo, OH, daughter of the late George D. & Nancy E. Carroll. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Brookville, OH, a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens and was a very artistic person. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty L. Shaffer and Rosalie Domer, Ethel is survived by 2 sons, Drew E. & wife, Margie Smith of Elgin, SC and John C. & wife, Betty Smith of Tulsa, OK; 3 grandchildren, Adrienne Smith, Alicia Smith and Steve & wife, Pam Smith; 1 great-granddaughter, Megan Smith; and a very close friend, Sandy Beckett. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 11 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Entombment to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
