Evelyn L. Gimperling

GIMPERLING, Evelyn Louise, age 94 of Vandalia died Sunday, January 24, 2016. She was born October 21, 1921 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late W. Elvis & Edith G. (Ballinger) Davis. Evelyn was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Dayton.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2009, 2 sisters, Ruth & Virginia and 1 brother, Ron, Evelyn is survived by 1 daughter, Nancy Phillips; 2 sons, John E. Gimperling and R. Thomas Gimperling (Julie); 3 sisters, Wahneta, Mary June, & Annabelle; 8 grandchildren, Cory, Jesse, Craig, Ryan, Nathan, Max, Matthew & Megan; 4 great-grandchildren, Rece, Layne, Lauren & Noah and her best friend of 71 years, Kay Garland.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 28, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Sue Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Road, Dayton, OH 45417 in Evelyn’s memory.
