Evelyn (DeVilbiss) Phillips

June 29, 1916 — April 14, 2012

PHILLIPS, Evelyn (DeVilbiss), age 95, a longtime resident of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Englewood Manor. She was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church and active in the Womens Circle. Evelyn had also been a volunteer at Kettering Hospital and was active with the Vandalia Senior Citizens Group. Preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Phillips, parents, E.F. & Ruth (Zizert) DeVilbiss Sr., 1 brother, Harold, 3 sisters, Phyllis Swink, Barbara DeVilbiss, & Eunice Sturr and 1 brother-in-law, Bob Guenther, Evelyn is survived by her son, Harry & wife, Susan Phillips of Vandalia; grandson, Noel Phillips (Mary); sisters, Joyce Cullers, Miriam Guenther; sister-in-law, Rufena DeVilbiss; brothers, Paul, Dwaine, Joel, E.F. Jr., Donald & Larry DeVilbiss and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, April 18, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Interment will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:30 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, the Dayton Area Heart Association or the charity of your choice in Evelyns memory.
