SCHMIDLAPP, Florence E., age 82 of Vandalia, passed away Monday, June 11, 2007 at Hearth & Home of Vandalia after a lengthy illness. She was born September 27, 1924 in Piqua, OH, daughter of the late Chester & Lily Mae (Parker) Carder. Florence was a member of the Bee & Thistle Garden Club, the Vandalia Senior Citizens Center, the Lucky 13 Club of Piqua, Cassel Hills Ladies 9-Hole Golf League, and was an avid bridge player. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. and 1 son, Phillip L., Florence is survived by 1 daughter, Nancy J. Cottrell of Vandalia; 1 son, Alan W. & wife, Jennifer Schmidlapp of Vandalia; 6 grandchildren, Kyle P. and Eric R. Schmidlapp, Emily A. and Laura M. Cottrell, William Joseph & wife, Tina Schmidlapp; Robert W. & wife, Hope Schmidlapp; 1 great-grandson, Phillip James Schmidlapp and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Libby Martin officiating. Burial to follow Forest Hills Cemetery, Piqua, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimers Association in Florences memory
