BROCKMAN-LIMBERT, Frances M., age 99 of Butler Township, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born August 15, 1922 in St. Wendelin, Ohio, daughter of the late Vincent and Cecilia (McFarland) Guggenbiller.
Frances was one of eight children raised on the family farm during the Great Depression. She beautifully chronicled her story in the book, Tootsie’s Family, highlighting the details of the Guggenbiller family. Frances met and married, Arnold Brockman. Living in the Dayton area, Frances became active in the community. She was a founding member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, was an original member of the North Dayton Garden Club and served on the board of the MRDD. She was a passionate advocate for the developmentally disabled throughout her life.
Frances was amazingly artistic. She demonstrated her talents through painting, flower arranging, cake decorating and especially through her gift of gardening.
Preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Arnold Brockman, second husband, Alvin Fudge, and third husband of nine years, Jerry Limbert; one daughter, Susan; granddaughter, Julie Ann Mackenzie, and great-grandson, Anthony Mackenzie, Frances is survived by four children, Shirley Waston (Lee), Carolyn Mackenzie (Bob), Dan Brockman (Gail), and Marge Newsad (Paul); step-children, John Limbert (Janice), Dr. James Limbert (Mary Ann), George Limbert, and Fred Limbert; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 4128 Cedar Ridge Dr., Dayton, OH with Fr. Benoit Mukamba celebrating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Monday, December 13 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia as well as from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Tuesday at Queen of Martyrs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Queen of Martyrs Church or Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in memory of Frances.
