Fred V. Withem

Fred Victor Withem Age 79, of Tipp City, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at The Hospice of Dayton. Fred was born December 24, 1934 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Pearl & Ethel (Norman) Withem, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Forrest, Charles & Pearl (Jr.) Withem. Fred was a member of the Christian Life Center, a U. S. Army veteran and retired from Dayton Power & Light Co. He enjoyed meeting with his buddies every morning at the Tipp City McDonalds and was an avid hunter. Fred is survived by his wife of the past 51 years, Patricia "Patti" (Shade) Withem; daughter, Kimberly (Keith) Ashburn; son, Timothy (Sandra) Withem; four grandchildren, Courtney & Sarah Ashburn and Kristina & Drew Withem; three sisters, Nora (Bill) Houser, Delores (Gunter) Walker & Edith (John) Morris; and by his extended family and many good friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, at the Christian Life Center, 3489 Little York Road, Dayton, Ohio 45414. Pastor Bob Cupp will officiate. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home in Vandalia is in charge of arrangements.
