Frederick Lee Brooks

BROOKS, Frederick Lee, age 87 of Butler Twp., passed away peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2015. Fred was a Northridge High School grad who enjoyed reminiscing on his days playing football. He was a hard-working, honest, charming, self-made man who loved life and his family passionately. He is preceded in death by his greatest love, Joy Brooks, his wife of 66 years; 3 brothers, Carlton, Billy, Gene and one sister, Guyneth. He is survived by his 3 children; Gary and his wife, Nadiene Brooks, Joseph and his wife, Karla Brooks, Nancy Brooks and her husband, Brian Hall; beloved sister-in-law, Betty Cundiff; six grandchildren, Leah, Steven, Mark, Stephanie, Jim and Joe, their spouses and children. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 28 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Ryan Shellabarger officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Fred's memory.
