Freida G. Sippel

SIPPEL, Freida G., age 96 of Vandalia, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 30, 1921 in Piqua, Ohio, daughter of the late Thurman & Martha (Lawson) Landenburg. Freida was a founding member of St. Christopher Church and School and was a very active member with the Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, the Red Hat Society, Sister Cities of Vandalia and her card club. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward Sippel; step-mother, Sophie Landenburg; brother, Charles “Bud” Landenburg; her son, Ronald Sippel, and son-in-law, Harry Walker, Freida is survived by 4 children, John Sippel (Brenda Lewis), Bob Sippel (Sherri), Margaret (Sippel) Walker, and Jim Sippel; 6 grandchildren, Heidi (Sippel) Haas (Jeremy), Dane Sippel, Drew Sippel, Will Sippel, Tim (Jenny) Walker, and Jordain Sippel; 6 great-grandchildren, Landen Sippel, Raven Haas, Jillian Haas, Oliver Sippel, Lauren Walker & Logan Walker; along with a host of other relatives and special friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 28 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Rev. Fr. John Tonkin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Wednesday evening, December 27 from 5-7:30 pm.
