FREEMAN, Gale Annette, age 57 of Troy, lost her 2 year battle with breast cancer, passing away peacefully Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Genesis Troy Center, surrounded by her family. Gale was born September 2, 1958 to Anna R. Freeman and the late, John Davis Freeman, in Dayton, OH. She graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School and attended Sinclair Community College. Gale retired after 25 years with Elder-Beerman. She loved Genealogy, and spent endless hours researching the different branches of the Freeman Family tree. She spent the last several years as a caregiver to her parents. Gale was preceded in death by her father, John D. Freeman. She is survived by her mother, Anna R. Freeman, two sisters, Karen (Don) Profitt of Mason, OH and Jeanne Fritts, of Troy, OH, brother, Stan Freeman of Whitefish, MT, and Sue Gunnell, who is thought of just like a sister. In addition, Gale had several nieces and nephews, Josh and Amanda Fritts, Matt, Chad and Shellie McDermott, John and Diribe Profitt, Heather Trexler, Michael Freeman, as well as great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, October 23 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Chaplain Ed Ellis of Miami County Hospice officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment at Polk Grove Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
