Gary L. Eggleston

Age 85 of butler Township passed away Thursday November 2, 2017. He was born on July 24, 1932 in Huntington WV, son of Monte & Virginia Eggleston.

He was a proud member of the United States Navy and later retired as an engineer from the Eastman Kodak Company.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Frances.

He is survived to cherish his memory by his daughter Becky & husband Tim Spreng of Butler Twp.; 3 grandchildren Jamie & Jared Cravens of Cookeville, TN. Cole & Megan Spreng of Butler Twp., Jack & Jennifer Spreng of Butler Twp.; 5 great grandchildren, Brandon, Macy, Michael, Brooke & Madison and 1 great-great granddaughter Adilynn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends & his loving companion for the last 10 years Bobbye Areen.

He loved traveling the world and was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan & member of the Browns Backers for many years. He will always be remembered as a caring, selfless & loving man that has touched so many lives throughout his years. We will miss his laughter, words of wisdom & stories but most of all the man that molded all of our lives.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 11th at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home located at 139 S. Dixie Dr. in Vandalia. The family will receive friends beginning at 12pm with services beginning at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Vandalia Food Pantry or the Vandalia Senior Citizens Center.
