Gary Arthur Fagan

Age 74, of Vandalia, Ohio passed away March 2, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton after a long battle with cancer. Gary was born June 2, 1944 in Troy, Ohio to Glenna Marie (Chambers) and Arthur Kessler Fagan. His parents and his brother, Don Fagan, precede him in death. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen (Young) Fagan, his children, Jessica (Fagan) Buttermore and John Buttermore, and Erin (Fagan) Hanna and Charles Hanna, his grandson, Jay Buttermore, his brother, Thomas Fagan, and his sister-in-law, Jane Fagan, as well as several nieces/nephew.

Gary is a graduate of Troy High School and Miami University at Oxford. He was a Vietnam veteran (Army) and received a Purple Heart and an Honorable Discharge.

Gary was an administrator with the Montgomery County Juvenile Courts until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, water skiing, spending time with his family and friends, and travelling. He loved children and animals and they loved him, too. He was a generous person with a huge heart and a great sense of humor. His smile and puns will be sorely missed.
