Georgia A. Booher

Georgia A. Booher was born Georgia Ann Kinney November 26, 1931 to George Kinney and Hazel Jenkins in Dayton Ohio. When she was 15 years old she met her sweetheart and future husband, Robert L. Booher. They married at age 20 and remained married for 62 years. Georgia was a familiar face at Monroe Federal Savings and Loan in Vandalia for many years until her retirement. She was active in the Vandalia United Methodist Church and performed bookkeeping services for them. Georgia and Robert raised two children in Vandalia. Debbie Zurawski and her husband Paul still live nearby and Robert lives in Bainbridge Island, Washington with his wife Terri Tarver. Their granddaughter, Laura Bergman lives with her husband Chris in Springboro. Georgia loved her family, her friends, her neighbors, dogs, her neighbor's dogs and reading a good mystery novel. She enjoyed watching the birds at her bird feeder, phone calls from friends and family while relaxing in her "blue chair", researching her family geneology and card club. Georgia was sweet and kind and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 14 at Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Michael Malcosky officiating. Interment will follow at Willowview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vandalia United Methodist Church in Georgia's memory.
