Georgia Butts

BUTTS, Georgia Marie (Winters), age 91, of Butler Twp., passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Liberty Retirement Community. She was born July 6, 1916 in Greenfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Herman & Maude E. (Burris) Carper. Preceded in death by her first husband, Russell E. Winters, second husband, Robert Butts, 4 sisters and 1 brother, Georgia is survived by 5 children: Ronald Winters (Marcia) of Hudson, OH, Janet Buehler (Jack) of Madisonville, TN, Linda Duckett (Kenneth) of Tellico Plains, TN, Tom Winters (Sherry) of Dayton, and Lois Ryan of Dayton; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Geneva Booher, sister, Betty Perry; brothers, James and Arthur Carper and numerous other relatives and friends. Georgia was a longtime member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church, the Vandalia United Methodist Church Womens Circle, the Vandalia Senior Citizens, and the Green Acres Garden Club. She truly loved being with her family and enjoyed sewing. For many years, Georgia made cancer pads for hospice patients and lap robes for nursing home residents. She was truly an incredible lady who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 31, at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Sunday from 2-5 pm. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Georgias memory.
