March 3, 1935 — October 2, 2012

CRINER Gerald R., age 77 of Vandalia, passed away October 2, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton from COPD. He was born March 3, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lawrence & Teisha Criner. After graduating from Hamilton High school, he joined the United States Marine Corp serving three years and after that did iron work his rivets are on top of St. John Arena. He became a bookkeeper at Taylor Bookkeeping then Criner Bookkeeping in Piqua. Skippy spent his retirement golfing @ Cassell Hills & reading books on his beloved enclosed patio. Survived by his wife of 52 years Nancy J. (Hance) Criner and son Michael & wife Bobbee Criner of Sunbury, Ohio plus grandkids Nicholas & Kimberly Elgin and grandpuppy Leftee. The family will receive friends Thursday (TODAY) from 5-8 pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 5th with Pastor Dan Weyand-Geise officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery.
