SANTEE, Gerald Joseph (Jerry) Santee, 89, of Lighthouse Point, FL, was born in Dayton, OH, August 25, 1919, and passed away March 29, 2009. Son of Wilber F. Santee & Lena Davis (Santee Smith). He was married to Claire Szymczak Santee (deceased) and had 2 children, son Gary Santee (wife Louise) and daughter Joyce Jarvis (husband John). He married Irma Wheeler Stickney (deceased). She had 2 sons, Ronald Stickney (friend Patti) and Burl Edward Stickney (wife Linda). He is survived by Rosemarie Owens, his partner and best friend; granddaughters, Mia Paolini (husband David) and Kim Verner (husband Rod); grandsons Geoff Wissman (wife Katy) and Scott Stickney; and 8 great grandchildren. Jerry was a champion roller skater in his youth. He always loved his cars and was a great boat enthusiast. He loved playing the organ. During the war he was a supervisor of a company that manufactured parts for airplanes. He then bought an insurance company in Dayton, OH, called Rankin Santee. He also owned a motel there. After selling the insurance co. he retired and moved to Florida in 1970 where he built 2 houses. Later on he built the Admiral Building in the Hillsboro Shopping Center. Jerry belonged to the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club and was at one time a Corinthian at the Club. He was president of the Lions Club in Dayton for many years and a member of the Pompano Beach Lions Club in Florida. He was a great man, husband, father and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2009 12:30 PM " 2:00 PM at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Bob Vogelmann officiating. Funeral services at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
