Age 80, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at her home.

Gert was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James, in 1998.

She has been employed by Bunkers Sports Bar & Grill for the past 16 years.

Gert is survived by three children, Mona Payne, Paul DeBruyn & Michael DeBruyn (Debbie); grandchildren, April Kenny, Sarah Wesco, Nick DeBruyn, Cody DeBruyn, Matt DeBruyn, Kaitlyn DeBruyn, Bryant DeBruyn, Caleb DeBruyn, Jamie Witteveen & great granddaughter, Kloey Wesco plus several other great grandchildren.

Family & friends will gather to remember Gertrude from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday (9/17) at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Malcosky officiating.
