STROBEL, Gertrude Arline age 96 of Vandalia, passed away Friday June 5, 2015 at Hearth and Home of Vandalia. She was born November 25, 1918 in Dayton, daughter of the late Finley & Frances Neibert. Arline loved to play golf and was active in various leagues at Cassel Hills Golf Course. She also worked with the Junior Golf League for many years with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; her sister Marcella Neibert; and one grandson Todd Gabbard. Arline is survived by 3 daughters Barbara & husband Gary Holliday, Karen & husband Ron Myers, and Donna & husband Sonny Adams all of Vandalia; 5 grandchildren Britt (Linda) Gabbard, Michele (Randy) Roberts, Tiffy Adams, Scott (Stacy) Holliday, Missy Adams (Brian Webb); 3 great-grandchildren Matt (Stacy) Roberts, Brittney Holliday, Jake Gabbard; Uncle Paul (Rhonola) Strobel and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for family and friends will be held Monday June 8 at 2:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30pm until 2:00pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Mrs. Strobel's memory.
