Ginger Lynn Johnston
Age 67, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Ginger was born February 6, 1950 in Dayton to the late Richard & Beatrice (Browning) Shroyer.
She was currently employed with the U. S. Postal Service (Downtown Branch) and was a long-time member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church.
Ginger is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Michael J. Johnston; daughters, Gina Patterson & Kelly Manusakis (Michael); sister, Linda Swearingen (James); and by three grandchildren, Cole, Crew & Chyler Patterson, along with many other loving family members and friends.
Ginger was an avid gardener who also found joy in bird watching, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her youthful spirit and her infectious laugh put a smile on everyone’s face.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday (9/21) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday (9/22), at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Michael Malcosky will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
