Glenna C. Lofty

Age 68, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017. Glenna was born October 3, 1948 in Dayton to the late Caleb & Edith (Sinclair) Hellard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her adopted father, James Ryan.

Glenna was a member of the Vandalia UMC; the Vandalia Senior Citizens; and for a while she worked for Goodwill Industries. She has always cared for others and has tried to help the less fortunate as much as possible. Most recently, she crocheted many hats and mittens for donation to St. Vincent’s, the Battered Women’s Shelter, and other charitable organizations.

Glenna is survived by her siblings, Ruby Hawkins (John), Tom Hellard (Linda), Joan Borchers, Gerry Helphinstein (Dan), and Candy Stephens (Richard); and by numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday (7/17) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Glenna to the donor’s favorite charity.
