Gordon Lee Kegley, Sr.

Age 88, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at his home. Gordon was born January 22, 1930 in Dayton to the late Thomas M. & Elizabeth (Bundy) Kegley. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Pettlo.

Gordon was proud to have served his county in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he earned two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He went on to work at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He attended Christian Life Center.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of the past 64 years, Martha J. (Gschwender) Kegley; two sons, William Kegley & his wife and Gordon Kegley, Jr.; granddaughter, Barbara J. Kegley; great grandchildren, Krystal, William & Riley; niece, Karen Pettlo; and by his extended family & many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday (9/17) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Kevin Cordner officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., on Sunday.
