Grace (Davidson) Baker

BAKER, (DAVIDSON) Grace M. age 93 formerly of Troy, passed away Sunday July 24, 2011 at the Springmeade Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was born April 2, 1918 in Preble Co., daughter of the late Mack & Pearl Mae (Wilt) Newnam. She was a retired employee of Sears Dept. Store and was a member of the Sears Retirees Club. She was a member of the Middle District Church of the Brethren. Grace was preceded in death by her first husband John Davidson; second husband Russell Baker; one daughter Donna Thompson; great-granddaughter Anne Marie Lamb, 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by 1 son Eldon & wife Linda Davidson of Vandalia; 1 son-in-law Lowell Thompson of Vandalia; 4 granddaughters Diane (David) Webb of Troy, Sandra (Andy) Osip of MI, Karen (Michael) Lamb of Butler Twp., Ruthanne Thompson of CA; 2 great-grandchildren Matthew Webb & Jenna Kisling; 4 brothers & sisters-in-law Harold Bill (Betty) Newnam of Troy, Clarence Tink (Joyce) Newnam of Tipp City, Joe (Betty) Newnam of Troy, Don (Jenny) Newnam of Troy and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Thursday July 28 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with David Webb & Pastor Daniel Fullen officiating. Burial will follow at Casstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00am until time of the services. The family would like to thank the staff of Springmeade for the excellent care given to Grace over the past years.
